Balloon ascensions are planned for early morning and later afternoons, when the weather conditions are favorable for flight. Remember that all balloon activities are dependent upon favorable weather conditions. The go-ahead for Balloon ascensions will be the decision of the Balloon Meister and Flight Director and these decisions are normally made at the last minute. Balloon Glows are scheduled each evening as well, when the balloons return to the field after their ascensions. There is a possibility that these may be cancelled as well, if weather conditions are unfavorable.
A tethered balloon ride is a ride in the basket of a balloon at a low altitude, usually less than 40 feet off the ground. The balloon remains tethered to the ground by weights and people holding onto strong ropes and cables.
No outside food or beverages are permitted.
